Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in the hit show Bridgerton, took to Instagram to share one of the hazards of working on Netflix’s hit TV show.
Bridgerton takes place during the Regency period, and the characters wear period dresses. Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Sharma, shared about the dangers of wearing a corset. She said, “I think I tore my shoulder at one point!” (Insider)
But now, Nicola is sharing yet another painful part of filming Bridgerton.
In a story posted on her Instagram, she took a picture of herself and wrote: “And so… The Bridgertan* returns… the sunburn you get from wearing a regency dress”.

While I am sure Nicola wears sunscreen when filming outdoors, her very light skin makes her even more susceptible to sunburns.
Season 3 Is Polin Season
Season 3 will focus on Colin and Penelope’s love story in a massive departure from the books. The characters, played by Colin Newton and Nicola Coughlin, respectively, are featured in the series’s 4th book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.
Bridgerton Season 3 Is Officially in Production!
Netflix officially announced that Bridgerton Season 3 is in production. They released a video on their official Twitter account featuring different Bridgerton cast members holding up three fingers.
The final shot is of Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton) standing in front of a horse and carriage, holding up three fingers.
He then opens the carriage door to reveal Nicola Coughlin (Penelope Feathrington) sitting inside, who announces that Bridgerton Season 3 is officially in production.
First Look
At TUDUM, Netflix released four new pictures of Bridgerton Season 3. An official release date has not been announced; although fans are speculating it may be December 14th.
